Mentor Orientation

Join us for Seattle CARES Mentoring Movement’s first mentor orientation of 2018! Click HERE to register.

Saturday, March 10, 2018 @ 9am – 12pm

3201 S Hunter Blvd, Seattle, WA 98144

Come learn about our culturally anchored and trauma based curriculum and how you can make a difference in the life of our young black Kings. Young black men and boys all over Seattle have spoken. Over and over again they have said that they want more male mentors who look like them, know their history, understand their culture, and have experience in what it’s like being a black man in America. Let’s show these young Kings that we hear them and we will support them!
Light lunch and snacks will be provided.

Our Best: Black Male Achievement Mentoring Campaign and Seattle CARES Mentoring …

City of Seattle and Seattle CARES Mentoring Movement will launch “Our Best: Black Male Achievement Mentoring Campaign,” the city’s first initiative to support quality, culturally anchored mentoring for young black men and boys.

The event is Friday, January 12, 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. at Broadway Performance Hall in Seattle.

As a long-term supporter of youth in Seattle, your organization plays a key role in helping us promote this event. Please join us in spreading the word to your members, funders, constituents, employees and others in your community.

Attached is some background information to help you. You will find:
1)  Two-page information flyer
2)  Visit the EventBrite event site

We encourage you to email these materials to your internal mailing list. If your organization has a newsletter, bulletin or other communication, feel free to excerpt from these materials or use in their entirety. Don’t forget to alert your employees and volunteers about the event, as well.

Our first-year goal is to recruit, train and mobilize 58 new mentors. The more people in our community who are aware of the “Our Best” campaign, the greater our chances are of reaching this goal. Find out more. If you need photos or have questions, please respond to this email or call me at 206-724-8681.

Thank you in advance for helping us reach as wide an audience as possible. We could not do it without you!

I look forward to greeting you personally you on January 12.
